Committees’ Decisions Summary Executive Committee Meeting – 6/6/13 Meeting ExCom members will develop a definition of “geospatial investment” in the context of A-16. ExCom members will review OMB Circular A-130, Management of Federal Information Resources, that is out for revision, and determine if they want to recommend changes or add language related to geospatial data management. The ExCom (Jerry Johnston) will develop a 1 pager to describe the issues related to having both A-16 metadata guidance and the new Open Data Policy metadata guidance so the committee can determine how to provide guidance to agencies on a consolidated approach the meets both requirements. Committees’ Decisions Summary Steering Committee – 6/13/13 Meeting Steering Committee members will ensure that their agency responses to the FGDC memo sent through the Presidential Management Council to Deputy Secretaries are provided by June 20. Steering Committee members are to provide feedback on the draft NSDI Strategic Plan by June 24. Ivan DeLoatch, Jerry Johnston (DOI), Scott Bernard (OMB), and Bob Austin (NGAC Chair) will have a discussion on potential input by NGAC on the emergency response/first responder coordination issue. Steering Committee to: Develop a plan with timeframe to facilitate the implementation of OMB’s portfolio management guidance (goals, performance measures, annual reporting to OMB) - Target Date: FY 2014, Q1 Responsible Officials: Ivan DeLoatch, FGDC OS; and Adrian Gardner, NASA STATUS: Implementation plan to be developed, topic at recent ExCom, NGAC and SteerCom meetings Direction memo to agencies sent through the President’s Management Council June 7, 2013, outlines roles/responsibilities for theme lead and other agencies, SAOGI to coordinate within your agency to execute the following: Affirm agency’s appointed Executive Champion(s) and Theme Lead(s) by June 20, Identify representative to participate in the development of the Implementation Plan, by June 20, Each agency is requested to ensure that the designated individuals have sufficient resources to carry out their responsibilities. Agencies will also be asked to develop plans for the management of assigned Theme(s) and report to the FGDC Steering Committee – initial report topics included as attachment. 2. Outcome-oriented goals and objectives addressing all aspects of the NSDI 3. A description of how the goals and objectives are to be achieved, a description of the resources needed to achieve the goals and objectives and how the FGDC will work with other agencies to achieve them 4. Performance measures for achieving the stated goals 5. External factors that could affect the achievement of the goals and objectives.
