RSD Grants PEP Grant: $485,000 3-year grant, expires end of school year YTP Grant: mid-way through 2 nd year of 2 years, have received grant for next two years CLASS Team Design Grant: $20,000 through Sept Appeal has been made to ODE to extend spending until January Greenhouse Grant: $7,000 from PEP grant funds which expire end of school year and an $6,000 grant from other sources. Response to Intervention (RTI) Grant: $6,800 per year for five years, expires end of school year

Elementary School OAKS Data The Rainier School District needs to focus on the improvement of students in the core areas of reading and mathematics. The students in the elementary school have displayed a performance increase in the core areas. The students are performing below the Like- District and State Average in these areas. The students at Hudson Park Elementary have displayed a decrease in science achievement performance. The students are still outpacing the Like-District and Oregon State Average in science.

Junior High School OAKS Data Improving the performance of the students at the Rainier Junior High School is of high importance. The students in the junior high school have displayed an overall drop in achievement over the last three school years that we have data for. Students at the junior high school are 11.6 percent below the Like-District Average in Reading at Grade 8. Students at the junior high school are 15.2 percent below the Like-District Average in Mathematics at Grade 8. Students at the junior high school are 16.9 percent below the Like-District Average in Science at Grade 8.

Senior High School OAKS Data The Rainier School District must focus on achievement improvement in Reading, Writing and Science at the senior high school level. Trends indicate a slight drop in achievement performance in these key subject areas. Students at the senior high school are 6.9 percent below the Like-District Average in Reading at Grade 11, and are 4.1 percent below the Oregon State Average. Students at the senior high school are 16.9 percent below the Like-District Average in Writing at Grade 11, and are 18.1 percent below the Oregon State Average. Students at the senior high school are 18 percent below the Like-District Average in Science at Grade 11, and are 7.4 percent below the Oregon State Average.

STAR Assessments STAR Early Literacy Audible assessment designed for PreK-3 emergent readers Measures skills in 7 key early literacy domains: General Readiness, Graphophonemic Knowledge, Phonemic Awareness, Comprehension, Phonics, Vocabulary, Structural Analysis STAR Reading Intended for students in grades K-12 with a sight word vocabulary of at least 100 words Assesses general comprehension plus skills based on the five reading domains: Word Knowledge and Skills; Understanding Author's Craft; Analyzing Argument and Evaluating Text; Comprehension Strategies and Constructing Meaning; and Analyzing Literary Text STAR Math Intended for students in grades K-12 Test items are from four domains: Numbers and Operations; Geometry and Measurement; Algebra; Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability
