3 Transitioning from ISAT to PARCC
Illinois is transitioning to Common Core State Standards (CCSS for reading and mathematics) - moving from the final administration of the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) in to the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career (PARCC) Assessments in

4 Test Maps These documents outline what reading and mathematics CCSS will be assessed on the ISAT in 2014. All items on the reading and mathematics assessments were written to the CCSS. The test maps are intended to assist teachers as we consider learning progressions, instructional shifts, and rigor of the CCSS.

10 Materials Provided Test Maps Rubrics
Science ISAT 2014 samples (4th & 7th)

11 Questions to Discuss (15 minutes)
Which domain of the CCSS or ISAT have I primarily taught? Is this the domain the ISAT will be primarily assessing, according to the Test Map? If no, how will my curriculum, instruction and classroom assessments shift? If yes, which other domain of the CCSS or ISAT have I focused on? Does this align with Test Map?

12 Questions to Discuss (10 minutes)
Have I incorporated the use of rubrics into my lessons? Have students used these rubrics to assess their own writing/math responses? Are these rubrics easily accessible to students? (in notebook, on desk, etc.) Do the students know how to use a rubric to assess their quality of work?

13 Exit Slip (5 minutes) What domain will you be focusing on the following weeks? Will your curriculum, instruction and classroom assessments have to shift? Why? What is your next step or steps to implement or improve the use of rubrics in your classroom?
