Salary can increase 12.5% to 28.7% from a newly assigned Special Agent’s pay. Depending on location, some new agents have been started off at $61,000 to $69,000. Salary can also vary on location, such as high-cost offices or cities where activity would be high. Federal Agents can go up to a GS-14 Level 10 which tops out currently at $111,205.
