The POP (Partnership for Older People) Service A response to a suggestion from the Older Peoples Network (OPeN) Make it easier for us to access information, advice and support. For over 55s and their carers in their communities Via a dedicated vehicle or a table service Project given momentum via the DOH funded POP Programme

Info/Advice provided Transport Benefits/Allowances Health Exercise Safety Wellbeing

Some of our Services Hearing tests Blood pressure checks Advocacy Medicines Management Respite information for carers Nail cutting Specialist equipment Pensions

What have we learnt? Face to Face Engagement is the key The client questions asked may not be the only ones to answer. Many clients have several issues that need an umbrella view. POP Service teamwork motivates everybody To follow up efficiently The general chat is often stimulating for many Remember we have two ears and one mouth Keep it simple More work needed with those between 55 and 65 Be sensitive with the words old or older
