Joint Approach WHY: Continuation of services for families, meeting expectations from parents and carers HOW: Joint strategy for planning services based in local communities Linking plans Integrating Childrens Services – pilot programme in Area 1 Setting up joint project team and Project Board for Childrens Centres and Extended Schools

Current Situation Newly established team Joint planning from 1 April 2006 Roles of Development Officers Joint funding for posts and functions Developing local guidance Training Information sharing Multi-agency approach

Childrens Centres Update Phase 1 – 7 centres, 2 including full service extended schools. Fully complete by Sept Phase 2 – 8 centres planned, school sites identified for first 4. Now need partners for 0 to 3 offer
