Who is Martin Luther King, Jr.? Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia in He believed everyone should be treated fairly and equally within society. He helped to lead a Civil Rights Movement that used non-violent methods, such as sit-ins and boycotts. One of his most famous speech is “I Have a Dream”. Sadly, in 1968 he was assassinated. In 1986, a holiday in his name was established.

“I Have A Dream” One of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s most famous speech was “I Have A Dream” In this speech, he described a vision of the world in which everyone was at peace. There was no discrimination against people of a different skin color, religion, or political belief. Everyone got along and could work together. In this dream, there was racial equality.

Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Dream If Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. were alive today, would he believe his dream has been fulfilled? In my opinion, yes, his dream has been fulfilled. Many things over the past few years have been proof of that. Though, don’t get me wrong, there is still more room for improvement, there always is. But, we have overcome a lot of challenges to get to the way the world is now. Today, there are no segregation laws and the first African American president is Barak Obama. These facts and so many others show that MLK’s dream has been fulfilled.

“ I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.
