Delivered on the steps at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. on August 28th, 1963. I have a dream

I Have A Dream I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed( 信 条 ): “We hold( 认为 ) these truths to be self-evident( 不言自明 ):that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

My ideas: King was strongly against the racial discrimination. (种族歧视) He thought black people should not be separated but should be treated as equally as white people, and with complete respect. “We hold these truths to be self-evident (不证自明 ): that all men are created equal.”
