Ways of creating texture on clay medallions Impressing (plastic) 1.Use the stamps created last year.   2.Create designs and textures with tools. 3.Create textures from rough surfaces. 4.Use found objects from pockets and purses or around the room.

Adding Clay 1.Try modeling the clay while it is plastic.   2.Attach ornaments to leather-hard clay with slip (sprigging). 3. Create a small sculpture to attach to the medallions

Subtracting Clay (leather hard) 1.Incise a linear design by cutting into the clay.   2.Carve a low-relief design. 3.Pierce the clay to create designs through the disc.

Colored slips (leather hard)   1.Paint designs using brushes and sponges. 2.Trail slip a design using the slip trailer 3.Scratch through a slip coat to the base clay (sgraffito). 4.Add slip to incised or stamped areas and wipe surface slip (mishima). 5.Use wax resist to create designs with wax to repel colored slip.
