Effects of Absenteeism Loss of instructional time May lead to poor academic performance Very difficult for students to catch up or keep up with work Can affect school funding and personnel allocations Chronic Absenteeism May lead to placement in special programs Factor in school dropouts Could lead to legal / court issues with parent (truancy)
