Presentation transcript:

How does a radiosonde send a weather report to Earth? The meteorologists send the radio on a weather balloon. Next, they send it into the sky and it measures the temperature, humidity, rainfall ect. Then, the weather balloon pops and the radio comes down on a parachute

Can a radiosonde do weather reports for different planets? Yes. But instead of a weather balloon they use satellites. The satellites take picture of the planet and send it back to the meteorologists. The meteorologists look at the picture and determine the weather. Then they distribute the information to the public.

Who had the idea of inventing the Doppler System? Since the Doppler System was named after Christian Andreas Doppler, you probably assume that Doppler was the inventor, right? Well, if you think that you’re wrong. Bernard Gordon actually did. Gordon named it after Doppler because Doppler came up with the Doppler effect. The Doppler effect goes like this: When you’re in front of the car, the sound waves take less time to travel to you, which makes it’s pitch higher. When you’re behind the car, the sound waves are slower, which makes it’s pitch lower.

What other technology helps predict weather? This is a list of the instruments: A thermometer An anemometer A sling psychrometer A barometer A rain gauge A wind vane Weather maps A hygrometer A weather balloon Satellites Your eyes!!!!!!

Whey do they send forecasting equipment into the sky? Up in the sky, it’s easier to predict the weather. We can measure humidity and air pressure and stuff like that a lot easier.

When did they invent the Doppler System? The Doppler System was developed During the early 1920s. It has been a great help to us in the past years.
