 All students are expected to arrive BEFORE the lesson begins (5.45)  Bring the following items to ALL lessons: course file, subject handouts, paper and pen.

 There are many different books which can help you on the course but to include all topics covered at Hefc you would need two textbooks  Recommended textbooks for this syllabus are:  Psychology As for AQA A: Cardwell, Clark and Meldrum  AQA Psychology A, Bailey, Lund, Willerton, Willson

 The course is split into two units:  Unit 1 will be studied from September until the end of December.  Unit 2 will be studied from January until the end of May

 Approaches in psychology  Social psychology: obedience and conformity.  Social: Formation, maintenance and breakdown of relationships  Developmental psychology: attachment, deprivation and privation)  Sex and Gender

 Ethical issues  Evolutionary psychology: intelligence  Abnormal psychology: depression and treatment.  Research methods

 Unit 1  Essay  Seen paper  Unit 2  Psychological report  End of year test

 Homework may be given out when work hasn’t been completed in class or as part of work towards assignments.  As well as the timetabled lessons and homework we expect students to be completing work at home. This will involve working towards set assignments or reading over class notes.

 Information will be communicated to you through moodle.  Moodle is a virtual learning site that students can access class materials, handouts and extension materials  All powerpoints and handouts will also be placed on this site

 Attendance will be closely monitored throughout the course and students whose attendance drops below 80% will be asked to attend a meeting with one of the curriculum managers  If you are too ill to attend college you can e- mail me directly at: 
