3 Grading I grade on a Total Point system.. Each assignment, test, project and activity is given a grade based upon point value. At the end of the quarter, I will total the point and base the grade on a traditional percentage scale. 100%-90%=A79%-70%=C 89%-80%=B69%-60%=D If a student falls bellow a 70% in the quarter, a grade print out will be sent home to be signed. 80% in Honors

4 Homework/Tests Homework will be given weekly in conjunction with classroom discussion and activities. Usually homework will be given Monday through Thursday, but very infrequently there may be an assignment or project over the weekend. If one is absent, they receive twice the number of days absent to make up work…It is their responsibility to get all made up work.

8 Constitution Bowl School Competition all 8th grade Middle School students May participate in. It is fun and challenging

9 History Day Each 8 th Grade Honors student will pick a topic and take part in National History day. This years theme in Communication in History There are two components: * Written Paper * History Project * Select students whose projects or written projects show promise will be asked to compete at the county level

10 History Day Dead Lines honor students complete an essay in their Language Arts class. Second, every student as an individual or as a member of a group completes a project in this class. See the following for a timeline of History Day: Essay:Topics Due Sept. 23 Project:Guidelines with Examples Nov. 1-5 Outlines Due Oct. 7 Progress Checked Dec. 6-10 First Draft Due Nov. 8 Final Draft Due Dec. 6 Final Project Due Jan. 10, 2005
