Making Talking Books

Objectives  Pave the way for the effective use of talking book as creative tool within the educational system. تمهيد الطريق لاستخدام الكتب الناطقة بشكل فعال و بأداة مبتكرة في النظام التعليمي.  Use communication technologies to support cooperative learning and networking. استخدام تكنولوجيا الاتصالات لدعم التعلم التعاوني والترابط الشبكي.  Promote the use of open educational resources. تشجع علي استخدام المصادر التعليمية المفتوحة.

What are the talking books? الكتاب الناطق معد ليتم عرضه أو تقديمه علي شاشات الكمبيوتر, وهو مكون من خليط من النصوص الكتابية والمؤثرات السمعية والبصرية والصور والرسوم والأفلام والأصوات ويمكن للطالبات استخدامه بمفردهن أو مع مرشدة أو زميلة ويمكنهن إن يقرأنه بأنفسهن أو يمكن للكمبيوتر أن يقرأه لهن. Talking books: Are a great literacy activity. Are made on the computer using programs to add text, picture and sound. Can be used: With all levels, from children to adult learner. As an individual or small group activity. As a classroom activity or community workshop.

How to Make a Talking Book Using Microsoft Word

Steps of creating talking book 1. Create a folder on the windows desktop screen by clicking any where on the screen with the right – land mouse button and then clicking on New then Folder. Type a name for the new folder. أفتحي ملف جديد علي شاشة جهازك عن طريق التأشير علي أي مكان علي الشاشة باستخدام الزر الأيمن للفأرة ثم ضغط كلمة جديد ثم ملف ثم طباعة أسم الملف الجديد.

2. Open blank Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation then add a page turning arrow: To add a forward page turning arrow select Insert menu and click on Shapes and select from Action Button then click on the forward arrow..

3. To add a hyperlink. Go to insert, then hyperlink. And you can add Sound then press Ok. You can add backward arrow if you require.

4. Add text: click on the textbox to add text for your talking book. Type in your text..

5. To insert a picture or scan from saved files on your computer. Click on Insert menu, then go to Picture click on the picture then press Ok.

6. Add sounds to your slides you have two options: To record your voice onto the slide you will need a microphone on the computer. 1. a) From the Start menu, select Programs, Accessories, and finally Sound recorder.

b) Press the red button to begin recording and then the stop button. c) To finish save the recording in a folder you can easily find. This will be saved in My Audio.

2. Go to Insert menu and Sound You can insert sound from a file. Just select the sound file and click open or record sound by select record sounds.

7. Add movie to your slide. Go to Insert menu and press Movie and select file location.

7. Save as PowerPoint presentation.
