Starter show scratch  The talking snowman

SCRATCH By Mr Singh

What is it?  Scratch is a control software which lets you control characters on a page  You can make your character move, change size, costume and even speak

What we are going to do  We are going to make our own talking snowman!  You will be working in groups  Both of you will create the snowman animation using scratch software

First the background  I created the background using a small white dots  Then told the background to change every second  Let me show you how

The best part – the snowman  I then created the snowman with two white circles  Drew the eyes, nose and hat

Then I got him to move  Only works when you click on the green flag  Then I set the time to wait for 0.3 seconds  After this I told my snowman to grow larger by 30%

Then talk  Only works when you click on the green flag  I then got the snowman to say Hello Ongar Primary School  I also made it ask you a question like what's your name?

Play a sound  Only works when you click on the green flag  Then it will play the sound jingle bells

Now its your turn  Using the sheets to help  Create you own snowing scene  Remember you can get it too talk and answer questions

Plenary  Showing what each student has done  Walking around the class
