Why is writing important? What are the real advantages of writing?

The advantages of Writing It gives writers time to reflect on and research what they want to communicate It makes communication more precise and effective It provides a permanent record of thoughts

How will your writing ability influence your career? Does writing have any practical value?

How do you learn to write well? What does it take to be a good writer?

Writing skills You learn to write through the process of writing This process takes effort, creativity, and thoughtfulness This process is actually a craft that has definable tools you can use to improve your skills

When your writing skills are good: You will be able to get your message and its nuances across to your audience You will have more self-confidence You will be more powerful – able to respond appropriately to a variety of situations Writing skills and confidence come with practice, feedback, and more practice

What are the factors that affect your writing? Audience – you are always writing for an audience – it might be your peers, your professors, your boss, your clients, etc. The audience causes you to make conscious choices in your writing Past experiences, your knowledge of the subject The purposes of writing Having a specific purpose assists you at every stage of the writing process. It helps you define your audience, select the details, language, and the approach that best suit their needs

What makes writing Good? Good writing is purposeful. It has something to say and says it clearly It is “clear, brief, and bold” Fresh thinking Sense of style Effective organization
