Birth of a Explorer  Born on august 1,177o in Caroline,county. he grew up on his family's plantation.  He had lack of school,but had a tutor to teach him the things he needed.

Parents and Family  His parents HAD part Scottish and English ancestry  His family owned a plantation in Virginia. they moved to Kentucky after the plantation closed

Career  William Clark became an officer in the army and was under the commands of general Anthony wane  William Clark became friends with Meriwether Lewis in war and fought together

Expedition  The expedition started in 1804 and Thomas Jefferson planned it.  Lewis and Clark had discovered more than 100 new animals unknown to science.

Accomplishments  Lewis and Clark had accomplished many things. They crossed the area that no one knew about.

Facts  During the expedition, Lewis and Clark drew over 140 maps on their own.  Lewis and Clark had the first fourth of July west of Mississippi
