Introduction to Islam

Islam is the newest of the three Abrahamic religions – Founded in the 7 th century in the city of Mecca in modern day Saudi Arabia – Islam counts all of the important figures in Judaism and Christianity as prophets – According to Islam, Mohammad is the last prophet – The Quran is the holy book of Islam Said to be the word of God, passed on to Mohammad, written down by his followers – There are five things that every Muslim is required to do (The Five Pillars of Islam) 1.Belief 2.Worship 3.Fasting 4.Almsgiving 5.Pilgrimage
