an honest conversation SubjectCurrent Grade What do I need to do to improve my grade? (BE SPECIFIC!!) Are there any problems with this subject? What is stopping me from achieving my potential? RE D I am not focused, I need to work in lessons with more effort. I should be reading through my book in the evenings to consolidate my learning. At times I find it really hard to learn as the class has 4 really noisy attention seeking boys in it who can disturb learning. Sitting next to Mae doesn’t help either, we gossip a lot. Eng C I don’t really understand the themes in To Kill a Mocking Bird, I need to read it again. I have forgotten to go to see Miss at lunch time. I have struggled with the CA, I seem to forget everything when I sit down to do it. Again me and Mae shouldn’t sit together.

moving forward questions When is Science revision? What s we do Wh

distractions I sit with my friends in class, we do work……. but maybe we chat more. I find excuses not to work when I get home… “I’ll do it after Deal or No Deal”…. which becomes… “there’s no point starting now, I’ll start after dinner”…… there’s always something better to do that homework and/or revision. I do my work on the laptop……. but also tend to spend a lot of the time I’m on it checking what other people have put on Facebook. I always treat myself to one game of Call of Duty or FIFA 13……. but one game is never enough and the next thing I know I’ve been playing for over an hour. We did revision in History today at school……. I don’t need to do anymore.

how you can help Provide an area where your child can work quietly, away from any distractions!

Revision has to be specific. Write a topic or exam question into your revision slot. This way time is not wasted with the thought “What should I do?”
