The tests performed 3EUSO-BALLOON flight review 4 th June CNES Alignment optics/PDM Complete chain efficiency Flasher tests

Night shits 4EUSO-BALLOON flight review 4 th June CNES With all lights off in the clean room and the LED off : NIST1 = nW NIST2 = ~0.015 nW (noise of the NIST)

Alignment 5EUSO-BALLOON flight review 4 th June CNES Procedure: With light source at infinity (with a collimator), move the back of the gondola to align the spot and the PDM. The position of the spot can be checked with white paper and a small camera inside the gondola, or with images from the PDM Scurves with the PDM at position 0 on the Z axis (optical axis). Scurves at different position of the PDM on the Z axis (motor range : +/ mm) in order to find the best focal spot. Same measurements at different wavelengths and incident angles.

Efficiency 6EUSO-BALLOON flight review 4 th June CNES Procedure: With light source at infinity (with a collimator), we moved the back of the gondola to align the NIST photo-diode at the focal spot. We took measurements of the light power. Realign the gondola with the collimator in order to have the image on the focal plan. Scurves with the PDM at focal point Same measurements at different wavelengths and incidence angles. See Peter’s presentation for the results

Flasher tests 7EUSO-BALLOON flight review 4 th June CNES 2 antennas were set up outside with cables routed to the two clocks inside the clean room

Flasher tests 8EUSO-BALLOON flight review 4 th June CNES

Alignment optics/PDM achieved with a nice spot size Efficiency measurement of the whole chain performed Flasher tests successfull, even though the trigger algorithm was not tested with them (only with injected charge). Conclusions 9EUSO-BALLOON flight review 4 th June CNES
