Executive Committee CASE STRATEGIC PLAN Goal 6 CASE will provide leadership in developing and advancing research based practices in special education administration that are highly correlated to improved student outcomes. Collect, analyze and distribute information on critical topics to the field Evaluate materials, products, and publications regarding research based practices Develop vendor partnerships to support the identification and supply of research interventions and products Develop higher education partnerships that promote the investigation of research based practices highly correlated to improved student outcomes Goal 7 CASE will increase the financial stability of the organization. Increase non-dues revenue using a variety of strategies Solicit sponsorships from vendors, partners, consultants, etc. Establish and implement a Patron Membership Initiative Dr. Mary V. About CASE CASE is an international professional educational organization which is affiliated with the Council for Exceptional Children, whose members are dedicated to the enhancement of the worth, dignity, potential, and uniqueness of each individual in society. CASE is especially dedicated to the improvement of services for students with disabilities and is therefore organized to promote professional leadership, to provide opportunity for the study of challenges common to its members, and to communicate through discussion and publications information to develop improved services for exceptional children. Goal 1 CASE will focus on the development of effective state/provincial units and encourage them to utilize Unit Development and Membership Committee support. Insure goals and action steps emphasize CASE support for its units and members Create an environment for units to share their activities, conferences, and/or products and to network Develop Annual CASE Membership Campaigns Distribute results from membership surveys for professional learning for members Goal 2 CASE will provide proactive leadership in shaping policies that affect special education. Seek input from members on legislative priorities and develop guidance and actions to respond to these issues and concerns Inform members of the larger education community of critical issues CASE is addressing Strengthen CASE’s research capacity to provide research based expertise to policy makers Promote CASE members for leadership positions in CEC Promote cross stakeholder partnerships in states and provinces Strengthen and expand collaboration with other associates Goal 3 CASE will be active in the development and mentorship of special education administrators. Disseminate professional standards for the administrator of special education Recognize members who have demonstrated competencies as highly effective leaders and administrators of special education Encourage and support second tier special education leaders to enter special education leadership as a viable and vibrant career path Work with authors and publishers on producing publications that contribute to leadership development Goal 4 CASE will directly and through its units provide the information and professional development its members need. Expand efforts to determine the professional development needs of CASE members Increase the information and resources available on the CASE website Build partnerships with other educational associations in providing professional development Utilize additional technology resources in providing professional development Goal 5 CASE will be recognized in the education community as the voice of Local Special Education Administrators and THE conduit for communicating with them. Strengthen joint information sharing, collaboration and partnerships with other professional education associations Provide current information on Congressional and legislative activities that promote CASE positions Reach out to non-CASE special education administrators to demonstrate that CASE can be their voice and advocate
