What do you think about the way that Shakespeare presents Tybalt? By Darren,Travis and Sean

Introduction to Tybalt Tybalt plays a minor role in "Romeo and Juliet" tragic love story on stage (he does not speak much lines than other characters), but then, he really influences the entire flow and progress of the entire story that makes his conspicuously small part in the play to a large and important factor in the story. Throughout this entire play, the audience could see his true character- angry, restless and obstinate behavior (especially to Romeo and his gang, even to his family), all due to long-lasting feud between the two families. He was later on killed by Romeo as an act of revenge as Tybalt killed his best friend, Mercutio, who provoked him, leading to a threatened sword-fight and bloodfest.

Quotes ‘It fits when such a villain is a guest: I’ll not endure him’ This by his voice, should be a Montague. Fetch me my rapier boy. What! Dares the slave come hither, covered with an antic face, to feleer and scorn at our solemnity? “Patience perforce with willful choler meeting makes my flesh tremble in their different greeting. I will withdraw; but this intrusion shall, now seeming sweet, convert to bitt’rest gall.” “Well, peace be with you, sir, here comes my man” “Boy, this shall not excused the injuries that thou hast done me, therefore turn and draw” “What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word, as I hate hell, all montagues, and thee: Hate at thee, coward!”

Analysis of language “What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word, as I hate hell, all montagues, and thee: Hate at thee, coward!” This portraits a number of death scene’s This quote introduces Tybalt into the play with “hell, hate, montagues” This displays how aggressive Tybalt is. “Peace” was used in “Well, peace be with you, sir, here comes my man”. This shows how Tybalt has two sides while in this quote it shows anger and hatred not forgetting his dramatic irony in depth

Analysis of language “Patience perforce with willful choler meeting makes my flesh tremble in their different greeting. I will withdraw; but this intrusion shall, now seeming sweet, convert to bitt’rest gall.” ‘Flesh tremble’ shows how strong his feelings are towards montagues “Seeming sweet” emphasizes hidden hatred that is being stored “Convert to bitt’rest gall” Wishes to fight while disturbing the peace that seems sweet “Bitt’rest gall” His patience will turn to bitter acid

Analysis of language “Well, peace be with you, sir, here comes my man” “Peace be with you” “Peace” shows Tybalts other side having respect to Mercutio “Peace” plays and important word for Tybalt because he executes Mercutio not forgetting that he kills Mercutio “Sir” shows his gentlemanly qualities even towards to someone thee dislikes

Analysis of language “Boy, this shall not excused the injuries that thou hast done me, therefore turn and draw” “Shall not excused the injuries” shows Tybalts Tybalts seeking for a fight but seems to be failing to find Romeo

Analysis of language This by his voice, should be a Montague. Fetch me my rapier boy. What! Dares the slave come hither, covered with an antic face, to fleer and scorn at our solemnity? “Fetch me my rapier boy” he shows violence right away. this shows his hate towards the montagues. “Fleer” hes saying that Romeo is mocking their family by coming to the party.

Analysis of language ‘It fits when such a villain is a guest: I’ll not endure him’ “I’ll not endure him” Tybalt shows anger and how he is confident in his decision “Villain” in other words mocking and shows his anger towards Romeo and doesn't believe he should be around

Answer to question Shakespeare presents Tybalt as a fairly aggressive character that really respects his own family. As a Capulet, he feels the need to hate the montagues because its imbedded the Capulet’s blood. At certain times he does show some good heart towards people. Most to his family members.
