12. Contextual Influences & themes Revenge; Revenge was very important in the Shakespearian times so in Act 3 Scene 1. ESSENTAIL that Romeo takes his revenge. “Mercuito’s soul is but a little way above our heads, Staying for thine to keep him company. Either thou or I, or both must go with him”

13. Themes Revenge- Tybalt wants revenge on Romeo  For the party Romeo wants revenge on Tybalt  killing Mercutio. Pretend  Juliet wants revenge on Romeo for killing Tybalt, (she really wants to go and see him)

14. Fate “O, I am fortunes fool!”- Romeo –Knows he is up against fate, links to the beginning “A pair of star crossed lovers take their lives” Shows that the audience already knows what is going to happen and we know that his story will end tragically.

15. Conflict & Loyalty Conflict is everywhere in the play at the beginning...... In the middle...... At the end...... Loyalty from Mercutio Loyalty from Juliet and Romeo at the end.
