Analysis of Drone Survey By Kelley Barrow Background: My survey was to investigate whether companies would benefit or suffer from using drones in a delivery service capacity. The survey also attempted to show if drones will have any impact in companies financially. Consumers may be reluctant to shop at online stores, if they know that drones will deliver their packages. Research Question: Will companies benefit from using drones in delivering packages?

Data Sources I used Google survey to create my questions. I asked 5 questions to an audience of 24 individuals, with ages ranging from Since many companies like Amazon are wanting to use drones for delivery, I wanted to see if consumers would still buy from online stores. 2

Data Analysis 1.Amazon, is one company that is considering using drones for package delivery, would you stop ordering from them if this goes into effect. 2.Would advancement in technology or age, become a factor that individuals stay away from drone delivery service? 3.Because the drones are unmanned, do you feel that they could be a safety hazard, i.e. crashing into a building or humans? 4.Do you think that it is a good idea for companies within the U.S., to use drones for delivering packages? 5.Do you think businesses would suffer in costs or lose customers, if they start using drones? 3

Conclusion The conclusion from the data is different than what my thought process was in the beginning. A lot of individuals do not have faith in this technology yet and shy away from it until it is a proven delivery system. I figured that this will be the case for the time being. As the data shows, drones would not stop consumers from shopping at these establishments, but 19.5% stated maybe, so that could go either way. According to my question on whether businesses would suffer, the data shows a 2.4% difference with not suffering being the higher percentage. Over 70% showed that they were unsure or maybe on what the outcome might be for the drones. Although some companies use them in warehouses moving boxes around, it is unclear whether they will be flying around delivering packages in the future. 4
