About Cubism Osamah Hindi 7B
What is Cubism ❖ Cubism is a form of art, which involves cutting an artwork into pieces and rearranging into a different form of ways that either shows the authors feeling or a different perspective. When did it start? Cubism first began in 1906.
Pablo Picasso ❖ Pablo Picasso was one of the artists who worked in this style; this picture shows an example of Analytic Cubism. Pablo Picasso was born in Málaga, Spain in 1881.
What or who inspired the artist to work in this style? Do you like this form of art? Why or why not? ❖ Pablo Picasso developed cubism with Georges Braque, his work was inspired by African artifacts, after looking at African artifacts he began slowly making more and more cubist artworks. I like this form of art due to the fact that it allows the artist to create a different perspective of life or some things of life, or even just for the artist to express how he feels inside.
How is this style different from the earlier realistic still life artworks we have looked at and the still life artworks that you have created? ❖ This style is different because the early artworks were all very realistic and detailed, and only shows the image, rather than true feelings and expression like Cubism does.
