2 HISTORY Cubism was invented around 1907 in Paris by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. It is an art movement which took place in the early 20th century Pablo Picasso Georges Braque

3 Identification Cubism is primarily seen in paintings, where artists take the geometric shapes observed in an object and then rearrange the shapes on a canvas

4 Features Cubism often does not use any type of perspective when portraying a subject. In fact, cubists attempt to show all sides of a three dimensional object at once on a two dimensional surface.



5 Cubism was the first abstract style of modern art

6 It shows you many views of a subject at one time

7 The Cubists introduced collage into painting

8 Colors Early cubist works featured very little color and were done in shades of one color, such as greens, grays, blacks and blues. Later cubist works were more vibrantly rendered

9 Concept Statement Combination between the unusual and fantasy will make the place like a piece of art. Mixed Irregular shapes with variety of colors to break the usual. This design will reflect the Picasso’s vision of cubism art. It will define itself by using abstract art and painting. Printed fabrics, mirrors, glass, and metal is the main materials that will be used in this design.
