Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board Partnership Review Anne Watts

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board ‘Partnerships for the Future’ – Recommendations In May Cllr Ellis and Andrew Roffey went to the ‘Partnerships for the Future’ meeting. They were told about the proposed recommendations - this included consultation groups for service users. They told the Partnership Board about the recommendations

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board ‘Partnerships for the Future’ – Recommendations At a Council meeting in June, one of the recommendations was changed The change meant that there would no longer be service user consultation groups including the one for people with a learning disability

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board How to tell the Board members? Cllr Ellis and Andrew Roffey agreed that we should have one more meeting to tell you about the change Not everyone will have heard about the change or understood what this means It is a chance to ask questions ????

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board How will you be able to tell us what you think about services in the future? 1.The Big Meetings for adults and young people.  The first one for adults is in November.  The first one for young people is in January.

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board Telling us about services in the future? 2.Coming to meetings to consult about the services you use 3.Coming to meetings like the workshop this afternoon to talk about big subjects

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board Telling us about services in the future? 4.Through the groups you already belong to – like those run by Mencap and Advocacy for All - and the schools and colleges 5.Joining new groups like Healthwatch Bromley and Health’s Patient Advisory Group HEALTHWATCH

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board Other ways we can talk to you? ‘Virtual’ Service User Panel  We have just finished an on-line consultation with nearly 300 carers. Bromley Mencap told its carers about it  Putting information on the easy read website and sending it out to your groups

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board How will we know if the new arrangements are working well? The new arrangements will be looked at in the spring to see how well they are working ???

Bromley Learning Disability Partnership Board How will we find out? Some of the ways we will do this are:  asking people what they thought about the Big Meetings  seeing how many people and groups get involved with the ‘Virtual’ Service User Panel  Feedback from your groups
