About S.O.F.I.A.  Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates (fondly referred to as S.O.F.I.A.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides advocacy, support services and temporary housing to “at risk” women and children of Domestic Violence. 2  Our mission is to empower Domestic Violence victim clients to become self-sufficient, positive, and successful.  Our workshops and presentations have been presented to over 1,000 individuals.  We are in the developmental stages of launching the S.O.F.I.A. Success Center- a healing and wellness Center and SAFE House for Domestic Violence victims which will offer housing and emotional healing needs.

Our Core Values  We value integrity for each individual as unique and inherently worthwhile. Our goal is to build inner peace, independence, security and self assurance with our clients.  We value the rights of victims to make life decisions based on being fully informed of all their legal rights and options.  We value the growth and continuous personal improvement of our clients. We encourage them to stay focused and guide them towards self-sufficiency.  We value safety, privacy, and justice for all our clients (women and children). 3

S.O.F.I.A. Services  PSP (PROTECT SHIELD PROSPER) Program: Teen Dating & Domestic Violence Outreach Program. Our focus is to create social change, thus leading to the eradication of Teen Dating and Domestic Violence.  Bullying Presentations to various organizations and schools throughout the country  Support Groups S.O.F.I.A. has offered support services facilitated by a host of professionals. Our groups focus on assisting survivors of Domestic Violence in the emotional healing process through creative activities such as writing, aromatherapy, Art and Dance.  Women's and Children Self Defense Classes  Career and Life Workshops  Effective Parenting Workshops  Emergency Domestic Violence Victim Housing and Legal Referral Assistance 4

Goals of S.O.F.I.A.’s Walk  Raise funding to support the emergency needs of Domestic Violence victims & families.  To encourage others to support Domestic Violence awareness, prevention, and healing.  Secure funding to expedite the opening of the S.O.F.I.A. Success Center and SAFE House. 5
