In daily life through the cars we are able to directly provide cargo or passenger. This follows from the fact that cars have a developed system of communication, so the transportation is door to door. Unfortunately, there are also disadvantages include for example energy consumption and harmful impact on the environment and problems with old and damaged vehicles. Car in daily life

When car is too old and demaged for a ride… …it will go to recycling

Schematically the recycling of cars

Every year, end of life vehicles generate between 8 and 9 million tonnes of waste in the Community which should be managed correctly. In 1997, the European Commission adopted a Proposal for a Directive which aims at making vehicle dismantling and recycling more environmentally friendly, sets clear quantified targets for reuse, recycling and recovery of vehicles and their components and pushes producers to manufacture new vehicles also with a view to their recyclability Few words about recycling of cars…

First the vehicle must be decontaminated, i.e. the wheels, plastic parts and the battery must be removed; the oil is collected and the anti-freeze and brake liquids and then the fuel; finally the gases – the air conditioning and airbag gases – are extracted. All these contaminants are stored and distributed to the authorised companies for the treatment of waste. When vehicle arrive to recycling…

What is next step? The vehicles are subsequently taken apart, part by part, and classified for re-use. All the engine parts, gear change components, and so on, are re-bored – a practice widely used in Central Europe – and these recycled parts used in new cars.

Is it everything? When the parts are taken out, the rest is broken up for scrap. The crane takes the cars, one by one, and introduces them into the crushing machine. The vehicle is crushed again and again until it forms a compact packet. Once the volume is small enough, it is placed alongside the rest of the crushed vehicles, and from here they are taken to the steelworks as furnace scrap.
