Welcome to your GCSE Journey here at EIC “a journey of a million miles begins with just one step in the right direction” Chinese Proverb

The learning platform It is now crucial that you construct the best possible learning environment where you can regularly do your work at home. Is the area quiet, clean, tidy, relaxing? Have you eaten enough food and drunk enough water before you begin? 5% dehydrated can cause a 50% reduction in concentration Are you getting enough sleep?

Independent Learner How much time do you spend on homework? Is it always to the best of your ability? Are you spending at least 2hrs a night on your work? Have you made a revision timetable? Do you stick to it? Do you ever ask for more work?

Ways to be successful Develop regular habits PLAN …. If you fail to plan your are planning to fail! Coursework must be a priority Discuss areas of concern or weakness with both staff and your parents Work in short bursts of no longer than 45 mins

Ways to be successful Keep your hobbies! These will help you through the busy times Include days of relaxation Set targets and goals now! Work together with staff and parents to achieve them

Work experience University selection is becoming more and more ferocious and competitive Our links with good universities have uncovered the need for students to proactively seek out specific work experience. You have 9 weeks between Years 10 & 11. Use this time to obtain relevant work experience. This could make all the difference!
