 Oral English 101 Course Outline

Breakdown  Participation 40%  Attendance 15%  Project 1 15%  Project 2 15%  Final Exam 15%

General Goals  Upon Completion of this course students will improve their oral pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and confindence in the English language.

Class Rules  Do not speak in class discussions when others are speaking.  Try to avoid using your cell phones, and make sure they are on silent.  Respect your teacher and classmates  Students must sit in the first two rows, and the first seven columns.  Try not to be late  If possible in group work, try to speak English as much as you can

Project 1  Country Project  Create a group today, or I will simply assign the group (5 minutes right now)  Your group will come up with an English speaking country and dictate a class discussion about this country to the class  1 to 2 groups will present a week.  The presentation should be about 10 minutes (9-12)  Everyone must contribute, and the project should include a PPT

Project Outline  Your group will determine a country :  Talk about its geographical location and climate  Explain why you chose this country  Talk about some of the interesting cultural aspects, they food, customs, beliefs of this country  Talk about some of the exciting touristic sites and why you chose this country  Talk about the history of this country  Talk about any interesting facts about this country  Feel free to use interesting pictures, and tell interesting stories about this country
