Shea-Leigh Wagstaff P.2

 Born December 11 in Cincinnati, Ohio  Two time recipient of Writers of America’s prestigious Favorite Book of the Year award.  Also holds the Romantic Times Career Achievement award.

Fleur Savagar “Glitter Baby”  Sweet and insecure but grows up through-out the book.  Main Character

Belinda Britton Alexi Savagar  Fluer’s mother  Also a manipulator but in a completely different way.  Lives through Fleur vicariously.  Has a sick fascination with celebrities.  Fleur’s Father… or so she thinks.  Skilled Manipulator  Creepy yet Charming

Jake Koranda Jake is a very complex character when you first meet him you think he is your typical stereo type. Then as you get more into the story you realize how wrong you were. He’s my favorite character because no matter how many levels fleur makes him jump through he is there for her and non judgmental.

 Alexi Savagar Alexi is definitely my least favorite character because he uses everyone around him. Mostly Fleur who was his most prized “possession” and has a super messed up relationship with her.

SELF ESTEEM ISSUES

 One-third of all girls in grades nine to 12 think they are overweight, and 60 percent are trying to lose weight.  As a result, girls question their own beauty: between 50 and 70 percent of girls of normal weight believe they are overweight.(  Age at which at least half of all girls report having been on a diet. Eighty percent of eighth grade girls say they are on diets."  girls were particularly likely to be critical of themselves, and one-quarter of older girls reported that they did not like or hated themselves. In contrast, only 14 percent of boys said they felt this way.""  More than 90 percent of girls (15 to 17 years) want to change at least one aspect of their physical appearance, with body weight ranking the highest. * Nearly a quarter would consider undergoing plastic surgery. * 13 percent acknowledge having an eating disorder."

 Fleur does everything her parents want her to do.  Then first her mother makes her become a model so she can meet all the famous people she wants.  Her father talks her into coming and living with him in France where she realizes he isn’t her father.

 Finally Fleur runs away from everything she knows and as cliché as it mind sound she finds herself along the way.  But it takes her about a year to come out of hiding from her crazy “father”.

 With Everything going up against her she decides to recreate her life.  She launches her own business and her also her brothers new fashionline.  Alexi tries to do everything in his power to stop her.  Finally he tells her he will send Belinda to rehab… even though Belinda hasn’t drank in years.  Fleur finally just has an EPIPHANY!

 Alexi dies of his illness and Fleur and her brother Michelle have patched things up.  Belinda and her never are able to patch things back up.

Jake and Fleur recreate what they had before! Fleur’s business becomes an extremely successful one! Then it ends with Belinda’s narration just the way it started! THE END

 Family Separations-  Growing Up-  Manipulation-  Abandonment-

 I rate this book a nine!  It could get a little overwhelming at times.  Overall it was any extremely fast pace and complicated.  I would recommend this book to anyone who loves the craziness of it all.
