Q&A at the 2

Outline 1.Data 2.People 3.Applications  Money  Health  Work 3

1. Data Data-Centric? Case: Amazon Case: Uber 4

2. People Identity Value of Data Case: Facebook 5

3. Applications Money Health Work 6

What does it mean for you? Data DNA of your company? Where is the bottleneck? What is your next step? 7

1. Select one concrete customer problem of one of the companies at your table 2. Write it down concisely. 3. Formulate a few terms for the fitness function capturing how well you do on that problem 4. Discuss some existing data sources for the fitness function 5. Imagine: if you had all the data of the world freely available at your fingertips, how would you solve the problem, and how would you know that you solved it? 6. Design a simple, concrete solution that takes into account benefits, costs, risks 7. Write down solution (sketch of an app, diagram, flow chart, bullet points) 8. Share with the room the problem you defined (in one sentence), one new data source you need as ingredient for the fitness function (in a second sentence), and one insight you had (in a third sentence) 8

Rules 1. Decision focus, not data focus 2. Customer-centric “fitness function” 3. Play nicely in the data ecosystem 4. Embrace transparency, data symmetry 5. Design for abundance, not for scarcity 9
