Menu Bars & Tool Bars Menu Bar Tool Bar A row of icons on a computer screen that activate commands or functions when clicked. A permanently displayed menu spread horizontally across the top of the screen or window. When the mouse is pressed over an item on the menu bar, a pull-down menu appears.

Getting To Know Your Pull Down Menus Pull down menus are revealed only when the user activates it, normally by pressing the mouse button while the pointer is over the title, whereupon the menu items appear below the title.
