Powered by Parent Questionnaire - Funzone Service 2015 Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Powered by Date Created: Saturday, January 17, Total Responses

Powered by Q1: Do you currently use the Funzone service? Answered: 32 Skipped: 0

Powered by Q3: How many of your children attend each of the following Funzone sessions? Answered: 31 Skipped: 1

Powered by Q4: Which school(s) does your child/children attend?(please tick all that apply) Answered: 32 Skipped: 0 Other = Mortimer St John's Infant School

Powered by Q5: If your child/children do not attend Funzone, please let us know why? Answered: 19 Skipped: 13

Powered by Q6: Does Funzone meets all your childcare needs? Answered: 31 Skipped: 1

Powered by Q7: If Funzone isn’t meeting your needs we would like your feedback an ideas on how to improve Need irregular term time childcare. Would be good to book individual days as you can in the holidays opening would be useful Giving the children breakfast would be helpful Would be useful if offer sessions from 7.30am Long waiting list for after school care- need to consider separating out Garland children to their own after school care based at Garlands, thereby creating more space for Mrs Bland's children Flexibility on places. There is such a long waiting list now I know that could cause me issues in the future if my job situation were to change. I would use it for before school care if breakfast was offered. Funzone itself is meeting everyone one of our child's needs when he is there. However, the limited spaces and extremely long waiting list for after school places mean that as an after school care provider, they do not meet our needs at all start earlier offer activities like gym, football, dance earlier start in the morning (I believe Mortimer offer from 7.30am) more flexibility - option for up to 1 hour after school at Mrs Bland's would be handy - ability to stay for up to 0.5 hour or 1 hour at Garlands after school would be ideal - Option to request ad hoc sessions after school

Powered by Q7: If Funzone isn’t meeting your needs we would like your feedback an ideas on how to improve – cont. Large waiting list for after school club places means funzone cannot offer after school care for my children. I needed childcare for 2 midweek sessions and had to turn a job offer down as funzone were unable to meet my needs and there is no alternative after school club for Garland/Mrs Bland's children. If places for after school sessions were available I would be concerned that there is no light meal provided for my children is too long for an infant and possibly also a junior to go with only biscuits to sustain them. We need a space three days a week but our daughter can only go to Fun Zone for two days due to lack of space. We don't know where she is in the waiting list. opens too late at 8am, other schools in area open earlier and some provide breakfast. I also feel that it is run for the benefit of the staff rather than the children. It appears that it is not open earlier because staff do not want to change. I have used the after school club in the past for my child who was at Garlands at the time. I took my child out of the club as I felt it did not meet the needs of the older children. A separate after school club at Garlands would be more beneficial. This would also allow more spaces as many parents cannot get there children in. I personally need Funzone to start at least 30 minutes earlier

Powered by Q7: If Funzone isn’t meeting your needs we would like your feedback and ideas on how to improve - cont. I currently only occasionally use early birds but would use after school sessions if these were available. other schools offer earlier start and provide breakfast It would also suit the Garlands children better if the after school club was also provided at the Garlands site and aimed at the older kids, This could include a provision for a homework club. I don't always need my child to stay in funzone for the full duration of the session, sometimes I only need an hour. If the session could be split that would be useful. More variety in school holidays My daughter loves Funzone, but would like them to serve breakfast in the morning. Would also be good if she could do an after school club and be walk over to Funzone after that Needs more variety / exciting things, especially during the school holidays. After & before school it's fine but we find that the children don't want to go much during school holidays but will do other things. Maybe some days out organised trips in the holidays?? Apart from that it is great. A hot meal in the evening would be good but realise this is a challenge! Perhaps you could charge extra for this??

Powered by Q8: How would you rate the range of activities offered in Funzone? Answered: 29 Skipped: 3

Powered by Q9: Do you think Funzone offers good value for money? Answered: 31 Skipped: 1

Powered by Q10: If additional activities were made available during term time would you accept paying a higher fee? Answered: 29 Skipped: 3

Powered by Q11 & 12: If Funzone was open during the hours below, which sessions do you or would you use?(please tick all that apply) Answered: 29 Skipped: 3

Powered by Q13: Should Funzone offers shorter sessions in school term time? (e.g. pay per hour basis) Answered: 30 Skipped: 2

Powered by Q14: How much would you pay for a short session? (up to 1hr childcare provision) Answered: 30 Skipped: 2

Powered by Q15: In the future, if Funzone were able to provide after school provision for Garlands Junior School children, at Garlands School, would you use this? Answered: 29 Skipped: 3

Powered by Q16: If Funzone opened earlier in the morning, would that reduce your need for afternoon sessions? Answered: 29 Skipped: 3

Powered by Q17: If Funzone stayed open later (past 6pm), would that reduce your need for the number of sessions in a week? Answered: 28 Skipped: 4

Powered by Funzone Questionnaire Summary Key areas to be considered: Use of Garlands School to provide after school provision Review pricing based on additional activities being provided Review opening hours(am and pm) Review profile of need and consider flexibility/criteria(pay per hour)
