Discount (%) MA Solve problems using fractions, decimals and percents Period 3

Definition A percentage / fraction off a regular price.

Example Examples of a discount of 25% is: $46.25 *.25 = $11.56 (Discount) Discounted Price = $34.69 [46.25 – 11.56] $18.36 *.25 = $4.59 (Discount) Discounted Price = $13.77 [18.36 – 4.59]] Multiply the original cost by the percent (%) of the discount. To figure out the discounted price you subtract discount amount from the regular price.

Question? Joe went to the store. He bought 2 shirts for each. The shirts were on sale for 25% off the regular price. * How much did Joe save? * How much did Joe have to pay?
