HOSA: Future Health Professionals

Membership HOSA is a national career and technical student organization for young men and women in health science technology education secondary (high school) or post-secondary settings. Anyone interested in pursuing a health care career is eligible for membership. HOSA has a national membership of over 105,000 young men and women in nearly 3,000 chapters. There are 47 state associations including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico

Benefits Positive contact between youth and adults Gain public speaking skills Scholarship awards Leadership experience

An Effective Member Shows respect for other members, advisors, and adults Is on time and brings what is needed to the meeting. Accepts responsibility to share in the business at hand when a meeting convenes and understands that participation is essential. Tries to encourage other members to express their ideas for the benefit of all.

An Effective Member… Participates according to the "Golden Rule," listens appreciatively to other members' ideas and contributions. Participants consistently and positively in the group's activities. Knows the purpose of the meeting and helps keep the ideas "on the beam" to get things done for the good of all. Earns the right to give constructive criticism freely by accepting it graciously.
