5 HOSA is one of several career and technical student organizations.  (CTSO's) are recognized as integral to the career and technical education program. CTSO's provide a unique program of career and leadership development, motivation and recognition exclusively for middle school and high school students enrolled in career and technical programs.

7 What is HOSA?  HOSA is a national organization for secondary and postsecondary/collegiate career and technical education students enrolled in health science (and pre- technical health science) programs. The activities of HOSA are an integral part of the instructional program that provides occupational skills as well as leadership skills.

8 HOSA Mission Statement  The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science technology education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community.

9 HOSA Provides Opportunities for…  Leadership development  Teamwork skill development  Development of citizenship skills  Enhancement of communication skills  Preparation for future participation in professional organizations

10 OFFICIAL HOSA EMBLEM  The circle represents the continuity of health care.  The triangle represents the three aspects of humankind: -- well- being, social, physical and mental.  The hands signify the caring of each HOSA member.
