Looking at your business another way © The Delos Partnership 2007 RICHARD WATKINS Since 1991 Richard has operated his own education and consulting firm, which specialises in the understanding and implementation of Integrated Enterprise Planning. As such he has helped many companies including Cray Valley (part of the Total Group), GlaxoSmithKline, British Nuclear Fuels Limited, GEC Marine-VSEL, Sandoz Pharmacuticals, Van Leer Metallizing, Cooper Bussmann, Rizla Ltd., Aventis, Quest International, and Levi Strauss EMEA. All of these companies have made significant gains in improving profitability and customer service through the implementation of the concepts supporting Integrated Enterprise Planning. In this he was associated with Mike Salmon’s Manufacturing Resource Planning Limited from , and with Oliver Wight associates from All of this was achieved through a mixture of Education and Consulting. Richard Watkins’ experience with Business Excellence in manufacturing industries started in 1986, when the ICI Agrochemicals’ Business (now Syngenta) started the first global implementation of an Integrated Supply Chain planning system. Richard was a member of the core Project Team that radically transformed the way the business operated, leading the Forecasting and Demand Management Task Force. This highly successful project led to a 20 % plus reduction in inventory, and service levels in excess of 95 % worldwide. All of this involved implementing a new way of forecasting and planning across the whole division around the world, which Richard led. This included the development of a global Integrated Enterprise Planning process, which enabled a monthly financial review of the business, and a long term strategic decision-making process. Richard joined the Project Team from the Product Management group, responsible for the development and marketing of new products into the Public Health and Agrochemical markets. Prior to joining ICI, Richard had gained an MBA from the London Business School; before this he had worked for Tube Investments Ltd, who manufactured Steel Tubes for the automotive, sports goods, nuclear and food processing industries. He gained his first degree in PPE from Oxford

Looking at your business another way © The Delos Partnership 2007 STEVE WILSON Until 2003 Steve worked for International Flavours & Fragrances where he held many positions during a career spanning over 20 years. He has wide experience of General Management, Technical Project management as well as Operations & Supply Chain Improvement. Steve completed a project to build, commission and transfer production from the UK to China. This involved developing the business plan and technical solution, setting the budget of $50 million, preparing, sending out a tender document, supplier negotiation and project managing. The project was delivered on time and under budget by $1.5 million. Whilst in China Steve built up extensive knowledge about operating and working in China. He has used this knowledge to help and support several companies that wanted to expand and move into this growing and challenging market. On his return from China, Steve was appointed General Manager with full P&L responsibility of the UK Chemical site for IFF. He was also responsible for the company turn around and implementation of SAP as part of a Class “A” project. During this time he used his change management and business excellence skills. Steve’s specialist areas include change management and business process improvement. He has also implemented Sales & Operations Planning both in single plants and on a global basis. Steve has also worked with companies on an interim management basis where he has continued to develop his practical hands on knowledge of business excellence and change management with assignments including Portmeirion Pottery and Dairygold in Ireland. Most recently he is leading the Manufacturing stream in Norgine’s implementation of a global ERP system. Steve continues to develop his knowledge of change, business excellence and supply chain effectiveness. In 2003 Steve gained a Diploma in Business Direction from the IOD and is a Chartered Director. He is also qualified in the Prince2 Project Management methodology.
