The Plagues of Egypt – Part 2 Exodus 10:21-12:32

Review Last time we looked at the first eight plagues Plagues were miracles Purpose of the plagues We saw the progression of the plagues We saw how the Lord protected Israel We saw Pharoah’s hardened heart We saw how Egypt began changing their mind

The Ninth Plague: Darkness Exodus 10:21-29 Thick darkness Darkness which may be felt Israel had light in their dwellings Pharoah finally reached his limit

The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn Moses announces to Pharoah – 11:4-8 The Passover instituted – 12:1-28 – The lamb – Unleavened bread & bitter herbs

The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn - Continued – The blood – An everlasting memorial All the firstborn of Egypt dies – 12:29-32 Pharoah finally lets them go

Jesus Observed the Passover – Luke 22:7-20 How did the disciples prepare the Passover? Jesus and his disciples observe the Passover Jesus changed the emphasis of this memorial to himself. The unleavened bread The lamb The blood He instituted the Lord’s Supper An everlasting memorial

Conclusion – Just like Israel was under bondage in Egypt, the world is under the bondage of sin – Just like Pharoah, Satan does not want to let us go – God delivered Israel, and he can deliver us, too Because of the sacrifice of Jesus – We, his people, have to leave the bondage of sin, and make a great exodus to enter into the kingdom of the Lord – Have you entered into the kingdom of the Lord?
