CE 3100 Intel® Pentium® M processor core at 800MHz and 256K L2 Cache, with leading-edge multi-stream high-definition video decoding and processing hardware, including support for MPEG-2, H.264 and VC-1 with HDMI 1.3a output, and featuring advanced 4- field per pixel motion-adaptive de-interlacing and 9-tap, 128-phase, independent horizontal and vertical scalers. It also adds a 3-channel 800 MHz DDR2 memory controller supporting tiled memory mapping and channel interleaving, dedicated multi-channel dual audio DSPs with support for 7.1 surround sound implementing advanced audio codecs, including support for Blu-ray requirements.

Muidugi on olulised ka teised parameetrid nagu kiibi energiatarve, asukoha määramise täpsus, millistes sagedusalades võib veel töötada…

7 Vastuvõtja kõrge tundlikkus Oluline, kuna signaali saatvad satelliidid asuvad maapinnast umbes km kaugusel. Juba sumbuvus vabas ruumis omab väärtust -182 dBW Kui satelliit kiirgab välja signaali võimsusega 27 dBW L1 sagedusel ( MHz), siis maale jõuab sellest teoreetiliselt umbes -155 dBW (-125 dBm). Kui seade paikneb suurhoonete vahel/sees on sumbuvus veelgi suurem. Lisaks sumbumisele häirib vastuvõttu veel signaali multitee- levi. Seetõttu peavad kiipide RF signaali vastuvõtuplokid olema eelkõige väga kõrge tundlikkusega ja laia dünaamilise diapasooniga. Tänapäeva kiibid suudavad tuvastada signaale kuni kuskil -160 dBm nivoo seest.

8 “Time to First Fix” TTFF on parameeter, mis kulub satelliitide signaali vastuvõtmiseks, koodide korreleerimiseks ja ajaintervalli paikaseadmiseks ning lõpuks sideseadme enda asukoha väljaarvutamiseks. Kuigi kiip suhtleb sideseadme enda tarkvaraga, siis GPS kiipidesse pannakse siiski sisse vastav digitaalne signaaliprotsessor, mis need ülesanded peab lahendama. Ja seda ka sideseadme liikumise ajal. Tegemist on ühe tähtsaima komponendiga nende kiipide koosseisus.

13 Fujitsu MB87Q2040 and MB15H156 7 mm × 7 mm 48-pin and 5 mm × 5 mm 32-pin BCC plastic UMTS/WCDMA, GSM/GPRS, PDC and CDMA technologies The RF front-end chip (MB15H156), based on Fujitsu's BiCMOS process, integrates most RF externals and features on-chip IF filters, VCO, PLL, oscillators and LNA, resulting in a reduced BOM cost and component count and minimizing the board area. The baseband chip (MB87Q2040) incorporates a highly optimized GPS/AGPS baseband IP licensed from eRide Inc. The acquisition/tracking engine on the chip has 44,000 effective correlators, resulting in high indoor sensitivity calibrated to dBm and indoor accuracy of <20 m. The chipset meets FCC-E911 requirements for October The solution achieves fast TTFF of <1 s when hot and around 32 s when cold for outdoors fixes. The employment of power-saving techniques with the 0.11 um technology results in a peak baseband power dissipation of 67 mW during low signal strength acquisition, while the continuous tracking (1Hz update rate) power dissipation is less than 40 mW.
