Nina von Staffeldt1 Learn More about ICT Goal: Strengthening the ICT competences of the Danish population through ict- training courses (mainly free for citizens) In order to: Increase cohesion, provide more training offers, increase information on possibilities through cooperation A national multi-actor collaboration – voluntary, decentralised set-up The Learn More Network: A wide range of organisations in Danmark Very different profiles... But with a common interest and involvement

Nina von Staffeldt2 Learn More about ICT - some background Denmark is in the top of the top-10 of digitized countries A society where more and more public and private information can only be accessed by the internet A society, which plan to make several public services accessible only via the internet, mobile services etc. A society with almost 100% broadband coverage and almost 100% web- accessibility for citizens In 2007 figures, however, showed that 20% of the population had no ICT-skills 20% of the population had only poor ICT-skills Resulting in a set of interrelated initiatives aimed at up-skilling the population on various levels in terms of ICT-skills

Nina von Staffeldt3 Target groups Target group: citizens with no or few ICT competences Shortly and over time: A continued focus on specific needs for special groups in society, eg. Senior citizens People with short education People with other ethnical origin, who have no or short education

Nina von Staffeldt4 What we do – means & measures Training of trainers and training of teacher-colleagues in partner organisations – educational material, meeting point and much more Visibility: Printed and digital information material all over the country as well as marketing gadgets The National Inquiery Service 1881 Campaign in National Broadcast Autumn/Winter 2009 – TV, radio, text-tv, articles in printed media, the internet Synergy with other governmental strategies for ICT use Coordination with other ICT-campains at national level Collaboration and close follow-up in the Monitoring Group of Learn More about ICT

Nina von Staffeldt5 5 How we are organised The Network coordination A Monotoring Group with one representative of each partner organisation Secretariat at The National IT and Telecom Agency National meetings four times a year – decision making s, news, keeping in contact IT-formidler.dk Under the auspecies of the Monitoring Group Run by The National IT and Telecom Agency Several hundreds of ict-trainers, many of them trained in a specific ict-pedagogical concept, developed particularly for trainees with no or poor ict-skills. A group of editors, one or more from each partner organisation with special responsibility to create ’life’, courses etc. at it- formidler.dk. Meeting approx. four times a year Newsletter each month

Nina von Staffeldt8 Why it works Common interest for all partner organisations Both bottom-up and top-down Non-political initiative With nationwide collaboration crossing sectors and areas, chances of reaching target groups are highly increased Networks at different levels – works where people are in reality The Monitoring Committee, the ICT-trainers and the editorial group function as ambassadors for the initiative Marketing of the individual partner organisation and it’s branches Generation of further collaboration projects and connections Cooperation creates community feeling
