INDIVIDUAL SPORTING RECOGNITION

PATRICK BRADLEY It is fair to say that Patrick is a very confident mover, and can negotiate space in an impressive range of styles and speeds. He loves our PE lessons and knows why it is so important for us to exercise and the effect it can have on our bodies. When looking at his Learning Journey his favourite photo was of him doing PE. This was not a surprise as he led a group down the slide in a new way and was extremely proud of himself for initiating a new idea! This is typical of Patrick in PE as he shines in this area and thoroughly deserves this award!

FAITH DISLEY During PE Faith has shown she can negotiate space confidently and use apparatus safely. It is clear that she loves our weekly sessions in the hall and although she may not always be able to complete tasks first time, she keeps practising until she achieves her goal. It is this persistence and self confidence that makes her stand out in the class and shows that being good at sport is about patience and perseverance. A big well done to Faith for working so hard to achieve her best.

GRACE LILLEY Grace has been an absolute pleasure to teach this year, she always listens well to instructions which helps her to progress well in every lesson. She is very enthusiastic during PE and always works to the best of her ability. She has particularly stood out for her performance at speed bounce where she can already bounce continuously for 20 seconds without stopping. We are certainly looking forward to working with Grace again in year 1.

BILLY CLAYTON Billy has proved himself to be an all rounder this year, approaching every activity positively and with a ‘can do’ attitude. He has impressed the adults this year with his catching ability and his athletic performances during sprinting and jumping events. Billy works well with others and he is always confident to demonstrate activities to his class members to aid them with their learning.

TALIA MAI DAVISON Talia has demonstrated excellent skills within PE throughout the year, both as a team player and as an individual. She works hard and puts in a lot of practise to enable her to compete and play at the best of her ability. Talia also understands the importance of taking part and will support and encourage her team. She has also been fantastic at demonstrating PE skills to others, enabling them to develop following her example.

ALFIE JACQUES A true sports enthusiast that enjoys every aspect of PE and certainly has a strong sporting future ahead of him. Alfie always works hard in lesson and he enjoys being challenged further, often thinking of his own ways to extend the activity. Alfie shows excellent maturity in lesson and works well independently. We know Alfie will blossom further in PE as he moves in to Key Stage 2, where he will begin to apply his skills into a variety of sports. Well done Alfie - never lose that enthusiasm, it will help you to go far!

BAILEY FOSSETT This year Bailey has stood out for the excellent effort that he has given in every PE lesson. He participates and tries his very best in whatever he is doing, always listening carefully to instructions and putting into practise what he has been taught. He is a great team player and enjoys working with others. He has made fantastic progress and has proved himself to be a good all-rounder. Bailey is an individual that all pupils enjoy working with during PE lessons because of his hard work and ability to help others.

CHLOE WILDGUST-STRAW Since February, the Year 3 children have been going to Carlton Forum on a Friday for their swimming lessons. I have chosen Chloe as the person who has made most progress in her swimming lessons. There have been some weeks where Chloe has had confidence issues whilst in the water, however with the support of the Instructors and lots of encouragement from all the adults who observe, Chloe has always tried her best and shown a lot of determination to learn how to swim.

RONNIE KOKKINOS Ronnie is someone who has really stood out to the adults in P.E this year because of his amazing dedication and try-hard attitude; always putting 100% effort into every activity he takes part in and never satisfied unless he has tried his very best! The progress Ronnie has made over the year has been exceptional, and this has come through his hard work, his personal desire to improve and his willingness to listen to advice. Keep up the hard work Ronnie, it is certainly paying off!

ALI FARAG Ali is a young man that always gives 100% during PE lessons and approaches every lesson openly, this has helped him to progress and improve fantastically over the past year. He has proudly represented the school this year at football, athletics and cricket – always demonstrating perfect sportsmanship and showing immense pride in his own performances and the performance of his team. Ali certainly has the desire and the potential to play in many more teams over the next 2 years.

BETH FISHER It has been an absolute pleasure having Beth in PE lessons over the past year. She always demonstrates great enthusiasm and a willingness to improve in her own ability along with the capability of helping others along the way. Beth also impressed during her Sports Leaders Award. Mrs Sharphouse who was particularly impressed with Beth’s sports leadership skills during a session with her class where she demonstrated fantastic leadership qualities. Well done Beth from all the adults that have worked with you in PE this year.

ALLISON CARBY A gold medal winning badminton player that has thrown herself into every lesson of PE this year and always comes away from lessons with a big smile. Allison has impressed the adults by her enthusiasm, her graciousness during winning & defeat and by her ability to work well with a variety of people during lessons. We hope you continue your love for sport in your next school.

JADE STEVENS Jade has not only impressed the adults in PE this year but also the pupils in her class & year group. Jade’s peers often comment on how well she has performed in lesson and this has especially been the case during dodgeball and cricket lessons. Jade represented the school at cricket in June and it was clear to see how much she has developed and how her confidence has grown this past year – this was demonstrated by taking an excellent catch in the final game!
