3  Every year our teachers evaluate our experiences of P.E.  ‘Green’ statements show where our School is doing well, ‘Red’ shows where we are trying to get better! Statements classified as ‘Green’ Statements classified as ‘Amber’ Statements classified as ‘Red’ OLOG (07/2014) 0049 OLOG (03/2015) 20245 +20+24-44 We didn’t do much P.E in 2012/13!

4  Red 1: Best practice is spread effectively through work with other schools and providers of community sport and by involvement in national PE and sport networks.  Red 2: Pupils think for themselves and take initiative in the organization and completion of tasks; leadership skills are evident and are actively encouraged.  Red 3: Rigorous lesson monitoring, regular staff training and the sharing of best practice have eradicated weaknesses, adding greater consistency to teaching and learning.  Red 4: Pathways from school to community sport and physical activity exist.  Red 5:Young leaders, from one or both key stages, are used in lessons and organize sport and play for others during lunchtime or after school.

5  Newman collegiate and other surrounding school meet regularly as a collegiate to share best practise.  Work closely with St Margaret Ward and other schools within the Collegiate to host events and clubs.  Providers of community sport- a sport club brochure has been created to advertise clubs in the community to extend children’s learning.  More competitions have been enterer therefore interest is higher- it is more probable that children will seek out clubs.  Year 3-6 children lead their own warm ups- experiencing leadership skills  Year 4-6 children have created their own games (multi- sports), leading and refereeing  Children lead ‘Monthly Sports challenge’. Showing leadership potential.  After school Clubs- Sports stars leaders to lead small groups

6  Date set for PE observations to take place  CPD 1:1 with specialist PE teacher- Impact measured by Observations  Teachers are able to identify and improve their weakness when working with specialist PE teacher.  Set a date for staff teaching (Discuss with staff what they will benefit from)  Staff audit sheets show increase in staff confidence and subject knowledge.  Providers of community sport- a sports club brochure has been created to advertise clubs in the community to extend children’s learning.  More competitions have been entered so children’s interest is higher- more probable that children we seek out clubs

Showing leadership potential After school Club- Sport stars leaders to lead small groups Children who show high potential in PE have been selected as ‘Sports Stars’ Opportunities throughout the year have been provided to inspire children to reach their full potential in sport A sports council is in the process of being set up, where the children can voice their opinions of after school clubs and PE opportunities and identify ways to improve where needed

11  In 2013/14:  79% of pupils attended a Sports Club.  81% of Boys attended a Sports Club.  77% of Girls attended a Sports Club.  78% of Pupil Premium registered pupils attended a Sports Clubs.  79 % of children with DSEN  So far in 2014/15 (March 2015):  82% of pupils have attended a Sports Club.  83% of Boys have attended a Sports Club.  79% of Girls have attended a Sports Club.  83% of Pupil Premium registered pupils have attended a Sports Clubs  81%of children with DSEN

12  ‘ Activ8’  The Activ8 club is all set up and raring to begin in Summer 2!  These children will be hand- picked and will work together to get fitter!!!!!  ‘Sports Stars’  Our ‘Sports Stars’ are a group of pupils who have shown an extra exciting level of potential! This group works hard to get even better at clubs and Special events through the Collegiate.
