The Keys To Success In The Business World By: JFK-102B3W24 JFK-103B1W160

 This training will be for new employees and trainees  Throughout this program, you will become efficient in the top 4 skills you need to succeed in business: Creativity, Team Building, Communication, and Problem Solving.

 You need these important skills to work well in the workplace.  You need to be creative with creating projects and meetings.  You need to have team building skills to accomplish team projects.  You need to be able to communicate with your co-workers to accomplish tasks.  And very importantly, you need to be able to problem solve with others to get through your disagreements.

 This program is designed specifically for you.  To work on your weak areas of these 4 important skills, and improve them to the standard they should be at.  Throughout this 4 week course, we will meet every Thursday and do a different exercise every week. Every week being one of the 4 skills.

 This week we will work on creativity.  Creativity is the ability to “think outside of the box,” and come up with ideas and thoughts others don’t think of.  Why creativity is important in the workplace is because it is needed to make projects and meetings more interesting. I know I sure don’t want to sit through a boring two hour meeting!

 To work on your creativity skills, we’ve created a situation for you to take part in.  In this two hour meeting, you will be separated in groups of five and having to create a skit in an hour and a half.  Throughout your skit, you need to incorporate an apple, a bike, and a soccer ball. Having the skit last no longer than five minutes.  You will all present your skits the last half hour.

 Our desired outcome of this exercise is for you to become more creative and imaginative.  The skit makes you think of a creative idea right on the spot, really forcing you to think hard and quick about a creative idea.

 This week we will work on team building.  Team building is being able to work as a team to accomplish a project, but cooperatively and efficiently.  Team building is vital in the workplace because you need this skill to collaborate together to accomplish tasks.

 To build your team building skills, you will all participate in this activity.  In this 20 minute activity, you will be put in groups of six with the task of all holding a rope and progressing to the other side of the room and back.  We will discuss the directions, give you the rope, and then the rest is up to you!

 Our desired outcome of this exercise is for you to become a better team player.  This exercise is designed so that you have to work together in a competitive environment, as a team.

CCommunication skills are the skills people use to communicate and interact with one another. CCommunication is one the most important skills you need in the workplace. YYou need to be able to communicate with one another to conduct meetings, work on projects, and to just talk! WWithout communication skills, we would all be mimes!

 To work on your communication skills everyone will complete a Communication Skills Self-Assessment Exercise, having the “best answers” previously removed.  First go to, e_communication_skills.htm and complete the online assessment. e_communication_skills.htm  After 15 minutes we will go over the answers and the various styles of learning.

 Our desired outcome of this exercise is for you to have chosen more “best answers” than not “best answers”.  In doing so, it will show us that you have great communication skills.

 Problem solving skills are crucial to the success of your business.  Problem solving skills are the skills you use to solve conflicts and problems with others.  Problem solving skills are so important because they are used to solve the conflicts or disagreements you run into when working with others.

 To work on your problem solving skills, you will meet for this two hour exercise and complete it.  You will be split into two large groups with the task of creating a package to keep an egg safe from an eight foot drop.  We’ll give you the supplies, and the rest is up to you!

 Our desired outcome of this exercise is for you to enhance your problem solving skills.  In doing this exercise, I’m sure you will run into conflicts with others about your ideas.  By using your problem solving skills, you can solve the issue quickly, and get back to work.  Problem solved!

 The workers that graduated from this program really say that it helped them prepare for the workplace.  What you should’ve gained throughout your time here is how to work with others in a serious, competitive environment.  We hope you learned a lot with us, and good luck in you career!
