Global Investment Promotion Benchmarking workshop opening

2 Getting to know you Please take time to introduce yourself to your fellow participants by sharing the following: Name Organization Your Role within the Organization Number of Years of Relevant Experience Fact about Your Location of Origin True or False Statement about You — Others Guess True or False

3 Setting personal objectives Take five minutes to write at least two personal objectives with respect to your participation and affix them to the flipchart or board in front of the room. I will group and categorize them, and we will discuss them in a large group.

4 Course focus and objective To learn about and the Global Performance Benchmarking report and the significance of its rankings to investment promotion intermediaries. To improve your effectiveness in the GIPB-specific investment facilitation topics of: Investor inquiry handling and Online presentation of investor information.

5 Course structure There are two full days of large group, small group, and individual exercises. Each day features some interactive sessions with high participation requirements. There is an overnight assignment on day two. Discuss agenda in binder.

6 Ground rules exercise Participants split into two groups, and each takes a flipchart and marker. Brainstorm ground rules together. Two groups come back together, and the lists are discussed, pointing out which ground rules were common and which were different. Questions
