Progression and Employability Exeter College Over 500 students are studying University level Exeter College right now across a wide range of subjects: Art & Design Music, Media & Performing Arts Business & IT Construction & Civil Engineering Engineering & Aerospace Healthcare, childcare & public services Sport, Leisure & Tourism Successful completion of the programmes leads to the award of: Foundation Degrees (FDs) Higher National Certificates /Diplomas (HNC/Ds)
Progression and Employability Exeter College FDs & HNC/Ds sit at Level 4 & 5 in the National Qualifications & Curriculum Framework (NCQF) & are equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor’s degree They are also “self-standing qualifications of specific value” (QAA, 2010) & recognised & accepted by both employers & other higher education institutions (HEIs) Foundation Degrees: Are designed & delivered by Colleges but validated, awarded & quality assured by Universities Are linked to at one or more ‘top up’ programme at the validating university enabling students to complete a full bachelors degree HNC/Ds: Are delivered by College but designed, awarded and quality assured by well respected Awarding Bodies Can enable students to progress onto the second or third year of a closely related bachelors degree at an HEI of their choice
