2017 All New Specifications New Specifications AS and A2 treated separately Specifications are more challenging A2 Points worth more than AS A2 includes all AS exams At CTK we are going to allow you to choose 4 A/S Subjects and then drop to 3 in Year 13 Treat each student on an individual basis

Students take 4 subjects in Year 12 & 3 subjects in Year 13 Benefits Flexibility – start on 4 A Levels. You can be sure of what you are good at and what you enjoy. Allows you to adapt. Over 50% of students change their mind between starting and ending Year12. Be Aware Some establishments only offer 3 AS Levels : ££££££££

11 Extended Curriculum Core RE CPSD Extended Project Qualification
2 hours a fortnight of taught RE CPSD Taught course to support in the skills needed for A Level study and Higher Education Extended Project Qualification Taught course offering a qualification at the end of Year 13 that holds up to 28 UCAS points RN/HA

18 Entry Requirements Attitude to Learning grades need to average at 1 or 2 in Year 11 Minimum grade entry requirement is 5A*-C including English and Maths (grade 4) (resits available if attitude to learning meets requirements) Grade C is required in the subjects you want to study – exceptions are: Biology, Chemistry, Physics – minimum B grade in Additional Science Mathematics – minimum requirement 6 grade Further Mathematics – minimum requirement 7 grade Modern Foreign Languages – minimum requirement B grade RN

DATE INFORMATION 30th November Year 11 Choices Day and Sixth Form Open Evening December 2016 Year 11 Mock Exams January 2017 Sixth Form Interviews February 2017 Option Blocks are published, informed by interviews and applications June 2017 Parents and carers of potential Sixth Form students are contacted with further details on option choices, updated subject information and details of transitional activities Thursday 24th August 2017 GCSE results are published September 2017 Students begin Year 12 HA
