OBJECTIVES Identify the components needed to establish computer-assisted communication Describe computer communication modalities Identify security threats when using email Send email messages and attachments Join an electronic discussion group Access newsgroups, bulletin boards, chat rooms and online social networking communities

Components Needed for Computer-Assisted Communication Sender and receiver must have appropriate hardware, software and connection Network Consists of all computers and related devices that are connected together Electronic Mail Email is a way to send messages to others electronically Header and the body
