Fingerprinting Fingerprints are required by NYSED for your certification to be processed. Fingerprinting facilities include local police stations, school districts and government offices. Those student teaching in Albion and Newfane school districts and the New York City Department of Education must provide the district with verification that the fingerprinting process has been done. It is highly recommended in Kendall but not required. It is recommended that you use Monroe-2 Orleans BOCES Live Scan Fingerprinting Service. Student Teaching Seminar Your seminar will meet most Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 PM unless otherwise designated by your college supervisor.

Student Teaching Handbook The Student Teaching Handbook is online at books.html books.html Make sure you become familiar with the handbook before student teaching begins.

Student Teaching Assessments 1.Student Teaching Assessment Will be ed to your Brockport , your SBTE’s school , and your college supervisor’s Brockport . Allow approximately 60 minutes; can be completed in multiple sessions Mid placement for the teacher candidate; mid and end placement for SBTEs and college supervisors An introductory will be sent to you, your SBTE and/or college supervisor prior to beginning this assessment process.

Field Experience Audits High need placements – most have met this requirement during field experience; if not, one student teaching placement will be in a high- need setting. All must meet the English language learner requirement prior to the end of student teaching. If you have a notation in your folder (blue sheet), you need to complete the experience(s) before the end of student teaching. Your college supervisor is aware of this. Your SBTE will indicate that these requirements have been met on the online student teaching assessment.

College Supervisors Support person Mentor Seminar leader edTPA advisor Liaison among the SBTE, teacher candidate & college

College Supervisors (Continued) Will contact your SBTE by Friday, February 6 to share expectations. Will observe your teaching at least four times during the semester. Will assign your grade for student teaching.

Photo ID Badges Some schools may provide you with a school ID badge. If not, you should use the teacher candidate ID you used during your field experiences. If you need this identification, contact the BASC Office in Brockway Hall. IDs cost $5 each; $25 for a replacement.

Single Student Teaching Placement We are one of the few programs in NYS implementing this student teaching option. We had great success in fall 2014! Many teacher candidates obtained experience through co-teaching with their SBTE.

Single Student Teaching Placement Although you will be in one main classroom setting, you will work with students in both content AND students with disabilities. The Students With Disabilities Documentation (form) will be completed by you to demonstrate that you have obtained at least 20 days of experience working with students with disabilities. Your edTPA will be in your content area.

Teacher Certification Exams Required Exams: edTPA, Content Specialty Tests, Academic Literacy Skills Test, Educating All Students More information at the workshop on March 20 and at:
